My Special Guest...

Hello everyone!

Today I would like to introduce you to a very talented new author- DeAnna Felthauser. I’m sure you will find her to be as delightful as I have. You'll want to keep your eye on this one; I have a strong feeling she is gonna knock your socks off!

Interview with DeAnna Felthauser

Age: 37

Currently residing: Oklahoma City OK

Savannah: Hello DeAnna and thank you so much for stopping by today!

DeAnna: Thank you so much for having me Savannah!

Savannah: First of all, can you tell us a little bit about yourself?

DeAnna: I was born and raised on a farm in Newalla, Oklahoma until I was 13 and we moved to Kansas City, Missouri. Once I married my awesome husband, we moved back to Oklahoma City with our cat Spanky. I love to read, do crafts, be outside and dream up stories to share with others.

Savannah: A little birdie told me that you have your first book coming out titled A Million Wishes; can you tell us more about it?

DeAnna: I would love too!  A Million Wishes is the first book in my “Wishes” series.
Book Blurb:

Mikayla Johnson… Growing up in a poor, abusive household after her father is killed in a car wreck; Mikayla had very few things in life that gave her joy. Her writing, the old oak tree, her big brother Callum and her childhood crush Noah. Could he help her heal from her past and give her the family she has always wanted by encouraging her to take foster care classes with him?

Noah Cane… Noah is a Navy seal war hero coming home to the Georgia peach plantation he was raised on to recover from losing his leg in war. His heart was stolen by Mikayla the moment they met under a peach tree where she was stealing peaches off his parent’s property. Can she help him heal from his injuries and give him something worth fighting for?

When they receive a windfall of wealth, can they make a difference together and work on granting A Million Wishes? Join Mikayla and Noah on a whimsical journey of love, passion and the discovery of what they were truly meant to do with their lives. Sit back and enjoy their playful banter and intense loving while they show the town of Sugar Creek what it really means to have a heart of gold.

Savannah: How did you come up with the title and the story?

DeAnna: I’ve been thinking up the story for quite some time now. I wanted to write a story that was uplifting in the way that even though we all go through hard times, we can overcome it and still give back selflessly. If more people were willing to give back, this world would be a much better place.

Savannah: Is Romance the only genre you write?

DeAnna: I love romance and happily ever after’s but I have some ideas in the works for paranormal as well. I have a love for vampires and shape shifters so I know one day soon I’ll be branching out into that world and maybe write it with an erotic flare to spice things up!

Savannah: What made you want to become a writer?

DeAnna: I grew up surrounded by books and it gave me a true love and appreciation for storytelling. I can remember growing up, my sister and I would tell each other a story before we would go to bed each night, so I’ve been spinning tales since I was a child.

Savannah: Do you have any sort of ritual when it comes to writing? For me it’s a good, strong cup of coffee within reach LOL Also having some quiet time helps a lot!

DeAnna: Me too! A hot cup of coffee is a must. I also chew gum. Is that weird? LOL! There is usually music in the background and the type of music depends on the scene I’m writing at the time. It can vary from heavy metal, country, hip hop, blues to easy listening. I listen to just about everything.

Savannah: Do you struggle with anything in particular when it comes to writing?

DeAnna: Sometimes I struggle when it comes to researching for a character. I want to give my characters a real feel so I want to be knowledgeable about their professions or issues in life so at times that can be trying.

Savannah: Who is your favorite author?

DeAnna: Surely you don’t really expect me to list just one do you? ;-)

I really love just about everything Nora Roberts, Stephen King and Sherrilyn Kenyon have written.

Savannah: All-time favorite book?

DeAnna: Gosh that’s a hard one. If I can only pick one…it would probably be Acheron by Sherrilyn Kenyon.

Savannah: If you could ask any author a question, who would it be and what would you ask them?

DeAnna: Stephen King, how the heck do you come up with some of the crazy things you write about? LOL!

Savannah: Well DeAnna you certainly have shared quite a bit of yourself with us. I wish you much success with your book A Million Wishes. Any final words for us?

DeAnna: Thank you so much for having me Savannah, I truly am honored you asked me to join you today. My book will be available in March so keep watching for it!
Thank you DeAnna for letting me interview you. I wish you much success with your book A Million Wishes!
Many thanks to all of you who have stopped by today!
