Let the Roaring 20's Begin!

Let the roaring 20’s begin!

Well hey there!

It has been a long time—almost 3 years to be exact—since I have breathed life into Savannah Rayne. Sad, I know. But life has a way of happening to all of us.

The last few years have brought many changes to my life. In 2017 I got married for the second time, and later that year my daughter got married. As you can imagine, planning two weddings kept me pretty busy. The following year my husband and I decided to move. He changed jobs and we moved back to the area I call “home”, the north woods of Wisconsin. That brought many changes to our lives. We went from living in a 4 bedroom house, to renting a 2 bedroom apartment. That took a lot of downsizing and was a big adjustment in general. But I have to say it has really worked out well.

I also decided that after being in the childcare profession (my day job) for 37 years, it was time to retire from it. I have taken the time since we moved to just enjoy some “me” time, while trying to figure out what I want to do next.

I’ve done some writing when the mood struck, working on manuscripts that have been sitting collecting dust. I also started crafting more, something I have missed doing.
With the New Year and a whole new decade upon us, I knew what I really want to do. I decided it is time to get serious about my writing, to stop treating it as a hobby and make a commitment to it. Yikes! Commitment #1…putting it out there for everyone to see! There, I said/wrote it. You’re all my witnesses!

The last big, exciting change in my life was the birth of my second grandchild, a baby girl born in June of 2019. Let me tell you, being a grandma rocks! My grandson and granddaughter are soooooo amazing and melt my heart. My life is so good and I have been very blessed.

The things that haven't changed are my love of coffee, family & friends. You'll still find me out-and-about going to thrift stores or rummaging, looking for bargains and anything old. Yes, I still love antiques!

With the start of a new year I am hoping to make good on following my dreams and achieving my goals. Exciting things will be coming! Remember Mystic Monday with Wendy Jackson? Well we will be bringing it back, however the blog title has been renamed, more on that in the coming days.

So friends, stop by often to see what’s going on in my little corner of the world. I hope you will all welcome me back and bear with me as I start a new chapter in my life. I know with your encouragement and support cheering me on, I can do this!

Hugs,
Savannah Rayne
