Mystic Monday

Hi All,
Let’s begin with a brief explanation of the Celtic Tree Calendar. Today starts the Month of Ash. The month of Ash runs from February 18th to March 17th. Ash has been an important tree to many cultures. In Norse mythology it is the tree of life. In Celtic traditions it is one of the triad that makes up the faerie triad with Oak and Thorn.

Ash’s magical properties include protections, prosperity, healing, and balance. So this month call on Ash’s energy to assist you with any work you are doing in these areas.

The Celtic tree calendar was a way of marking time. The phases of the moon marked the days as the waning and waxing of the moon is regular. There are 13 tree months to mark the 13 new moons of the year.
I don’t follow the Celtic tree year but I do pay attention to it, just as I do the moon when doing healing work or manifesting.

Alder is our next tree whose month begins March 18th and runs to April 14th.

This last week I’ve been doing a lot of research on Menopause and pre-menopause. Now what does this have to do with our blog? Well, healing and getting through it all without anti-depressants and other drugs. I’ve read through many books on the topic and in all, the theme that comes out is pre-menopause and menopause hits some of us harder than others emotionally and mentally because we are the ones that haven’t listened to our bodies or intuition and have neglected to work on our baggage.

This is one thing a healer friend of mine has been telling me for years now. Those of us that are getting our “baggage” worked on will have a better menopause then those who don’t…we will see.
In the meantime, I don’t know about you girls but I’m fighting it all with whatever intuitive healing and holistic route I can. Now like I said, I’ve been reading and I’ve called a few healer friends to help out. I’ve been using Nemeton Energy System to help with things such as headaches and sleeping problems. This week I am taking a lesson with a healer to learn some meditations with crystals to help with the nasty depression with PMS. I have also restructured my workout routines to help and well, my diet needs major work. Like most of you out there I’m sure, I’m at work 9 hours but I commute 45 minutes each way so I’m out of the house for almost 11 hours a day. How does one eat healthy with hours like that? Well that’s what I’m looking at to fix. But so far in everything I’ve read diet and vitamins play an important part of helping with relieving the symptoms of pre-menopause. Along with diet there is exercise and believe it or not mediation was on the list. So over the next few weeks or months I’ll be touching on some of the things I’m working with in hopes it will help us all get through this transition time in our lives.

So far for sleep problems I’ve been burning lavender oil in the burner in my bedroom about a half hour or so before bed to help with sleep. That seems to help me sleep deeper a little longer and I’ve noticed I’m not waking up during the middle of the night. I’ll continue that and let you all know how that works.
Here is a list of some oils that can help you get through some of the symptoms of menopause and pre-menopause.

Primrose oil, Sage, Geranium, Jasmine, Bergamot, Bois de rose, Coriander, Nutmeg and Red Thyme

The Complete Book of Essential Oils and Aromatherapy by Valerie Anne Worwood, is the book I go to for oils. I believe everyone should have a copy in their house. I cannot tell you how many times I’ve consulted this book for oils for what troubles me.
According to this book you can use the above oils together or individually, and you can use whatever combination of them to help you out. I like to use almond oil for a base oil if making a message oil, but you can use 2T of vegetable oil. I also combine oils with a little water in my burner and just sit in my room and breathe it all in.

Have an amazing week everyone and please leave comments as to what helps and what isn’t. And hey, if anyone can help me with my diet for on-the-go food let me know. J

Blessings All,
Wendy

  2. So do we keep with the holistic approach to "the change?" or drop it? What are your thoughts please?
