Mystic Monday

Hi All,

Merry Christmas!

Is all your shopping done? I’m still waiting for some of mine to come in from online shopping.

I wanted to write something about Santa Claus and the story behind him, but there are so many out there it was hard to wrap my brain around it and figure out how to make it all short and sweet.

The night the Three Wise Men visited the baby Jesus, they came with gifts of Frankincense and Myrrh. What the heck is Frankincense and Myrrh?

Both Frankincense and Myrrh are tree resin and were once worth more than gold.

Frankincense is a milky white resin from trees in the Boswella family. These trees are found throughout Arabia, East Africa, and India.

Frankincense has been historically used when bathing was infrequent to help a person smell better. Women used to mix it in with their cosmetics. Some cultures believe it helps raise prayers to the heavens. Mainly it has been used in perfumes. Yet, it is used in many religious rituals.
Frankincense helps to purify your space or you could use it to smudge yourself.

Myrrh is an antibiotic. It is good for pain. So you can use it on sprains, bruises, bumps, and aches. Myrrh has been used traditionally in burial rituals and for that reason has been linked with death.

Myrrh is a reddish resin that comes from the trees’ in the Commiphora family. It too has been used in perfumes.

So those are the short versions of what the two are used for and how you can include them into your practices.

Please see my website for links to the Mystic Monday eBook which is on sale now through the holidays for $1.99. Mystic Monday the Book is now out in PRINT and I’m happy to sign a copy. I will be listing events soon on my website www.intuitivewendy.net so watch after the New Year!

Many Blessings All during this holiday season.
Wendy
